An Overdue Bad Bloggers

It's never a good thing when I wait too long in between bad bloggers posts :/ Especially with the way that I like to bring books into the house. I've been pretty good for me though :p A lot of these books were either bought super cheap or I got them from paperback swap and even though this is a LOT of books, sadly it's STILL better than how many books I was bringing in last year this time :p The goal is to read more from my shelves this year and so far I'm doing a pretty darn good job of that! So here's what's come in since the last post:

1. A Greyhound of a Girl by Roddy Doyle - This one comes in at the fault of The Book Smugglers! I was immediately drawn to it because of the beautiful cover and their review of it left me really intrigued too! Point to The Book Smugglers! (Paperback Swap)

2. Gate 7 Volume 2 by CLAMP - I was immediately hooked by CLAMP's latest tale after reading volume 1 and immediately had to have the next two volumes, so yeah...went out and bought them :p (Bought it)

3. Conspicuous Consumption by Thorsten Veblen - Got this one on Paperback Swap. It's another beautiful volume in the Penguin Great Ideas collection. I just love these so much!!! June is going to be dedicated to reading nothing but Penguins, so I hope to get to a bunch of these then :) (Paperback Swap)

4. Gumbo Tales: Finding My Place at the New Orleans Table by Sara Roahen - This month is food and gardening month for me and Debi so when I went to Barnes and Noble to buy Gate 7, I picked up this one too because it sounded really good and I wanted to read something local! Now we'll see if I actually get to it before month's end which I'm highly doubting at this point :/ (Bought it)

5. Gate 7 Volume 3 by CLAMP - Now that I'm all caught up on the series I have to wait til JUNE for book 4 T_T (Bought it)

6. The Seed Underground: A Growing Revolution to Save Food by Janisse Ray - I've been wanting this one since I first saw it and thought this would be the perfect month to finally get my grubby little paws on it...it may fall to the same fate as Gumbo Tales though and end up not read this month though :/ (Bought it)

7. Useful Work Versus Useless Toil by William Morris - Another beautiful title from the Penguin Great Ideas collection (Paperback Swap)

8. Waiting For the Barbarians by J.M. Coetzee - And yet another addition to the Penguin collection, this one from the Penguin Ink line. (Paperback Swap)

9. What Tears Us Apart by Deborah Cloyed - This is a really intriguing looking title sent from the publisher for review! Love the cover to this one. (Review Copy)

10. The Bone People by Keri Hulme - If you know me and have been following my blog for any period of time, you'll know how much I absolutely ADORE this book!! It's one of my all time favs. So I got SO excited when I saw this Penguin Ink edition on super sale on bookcloseouts. Had to get it! (Bought it)

11. Next Stop by Glen Finland - A memoir I've been wanting to read for a long time now! Another book closeouts find. (Bought it)

12. Flower Confidential by Amy Stewart - Ah Amy Stewart...yet another author that I absolutely love but have yet to read :p I just love the sounds of all of her books (Bought it)

13. On Being Different: What it Means To Be a Homosexual by Merle Miller - A Penguin Classics that has been on my wishlist for awhile now. And I just love the cover of it! (Bought it)

14. The Southern Garden by Lydia Longshore - I got this book on Bookcloseouts for $1.99! It's an oversized paperback of pictures of gorgeous gardens and landscape tips. In love with this one! (Bought it)

15. Tomatoland by Barry Estabrook - Yet another food/gardening book I've been wanting for awhile now. (Bought it)

16. The Cats of Tanglewood Forest by Charles De Lint - I am SO excited about this book and I don't know why I haven't started it yet!!! It's absolutely gorgeous and fully illustrated by Charles Vess in full color. I just want to hug it! (Bought it)

17. Some Kind of Fairy Tale by Graham Joyce - I've had my eye on this one since it was first released and then Pat went and reviewed it and I knew I had to have it. And she sent it to me!! That doesn't get her out of getting a point for it though :p Point to Pat! (Gift from a friend)

Flower Confidential is good. And I LOVE the Bone People, too. That edition looks gorgeous. Of course, like always, you've got a lot of great-looking titles here I've never heard of before. More for my list, too!

Oooh Southern Gardens looks lovely! I am so relieved to say I already own Some Kind of Fairy Tale - saving it for OUAT next week!!yaaay! so just have to get Bone People (no, still haven't read it), and the William Morris looks like one I need! Don't they all......have fun reading them when you get to them. There are some good books there. I have exactly one of those and I fear you're likely to get me in trouble. Must resist bringing home more books! I love Roddy Doyle. And, The Cats of Tanglewood Forest looks awesome, of course. Gorgeous cover!
