Progress Report: Well this has just been so much fun so far :D I just finished my first book which was Neil Gaiman's newly released Deluxe Edition of all of the Death stories from Sandman. It was SO GOOD!!!! So happy to own this as it really is a little piece of treasure and I can't wait to review it and convince you all to buy it, because the $30 price tag truly is a huge bargain for what you get in here. So yeah, I read 115 pages in 34 minutes, but that's only because a lot of those pages were an art gallery of different artist renditions of Death which were stunningly gorgeous. But I also got to read in those last 115 pages two stories I've never read before....one with this gorgeous art shared below and one called "Death Talks About Life" that was illustrated by Dave McKean where Death talks about practicing safe sex and about the dangers of contracting HIV and also educates people on the horrible stereotypes of who can get HIV. Really was an amazing book.
So I went to random.org to choose the next book out of my pile and random.org is really wanting me to read graphic novels apparently because it has chosen a manga for me which I am really excited about! I actually just got this in the mail yesterday!! I discovered that Penguin has a line of "Manga Biographies" and I found two of them on paperback swap! So next up, I'll be reading the Manga Biography of Gandhi :) Should be really interesting!! At least I hope so!
Oh, and before I forget, here's a picture of some of the gorgeous art in just one of the stories from the Death book I just read. I chose this spread just because I loved the way that P. Craig Russell portrayed Death in this story. She looks so beautiful :)

I think I've only read 2 graphic novels - with mixed results - but I would definitely say they make great readathon choices. The Gandhi one is one I have looked at picking up. I'll be interested to see what you think of it.
Dang, but I want to find some of those manga biographies! I never even heard of them before you mentioned them! Hope they're as awesome as they sound. :) And damn, my dear, just look how you're cranking out those pages!!! I'm really loving by book, but I'm beginning to feel like I'm never going to finish it...
LOVE YOU LOVE YOU LOVE YOU AND HAPPY READING!!!
