The Week I Disappeared From Blogging

Hey guys! Just wanted to let you all know I'm still here. This week just turned out to be one of those hellacious weeks that just didn't let up. I've been letting work get to me WAY too much. To the point where when I come home I've just been crashing and pretty much going straight to bed. When I'm counseling my clients, I always remind them that they work to live, not live to work. I need to take my own advice. It's hard sometimes to not let work take over your life, but I really need to start taking that lesson to heart. Either that or something will have to change.

I felt awful because the week I disappeared from blogging just happened to be Book Blogger Appreciation Week, a week that Amy puts so much time and energy into and that time is so very much appreciated. I don't even really consider myself a book blogger these days. Yes, I still blog about books here and there when I actually get one read or when they come into the house, but more often than not, these days I'm babbling about life or what's going on in the garden, or occasionally about music. But there's a large part of my blogging heart that will always be dedicated to books and the family and friends that I've found in the book blogging community. And I was so touched by some of the mentions I found of my little blog throughout the blogosphere this week and just wanted to thank you all for that and just for being there. And I wanted to thank Amy for once again putting this whole thing together.

As for the reading front, not much is getting read at all in these neck of the woods :/ I'm almost finished Every Day by David Levithan and I'm about halfway through the audio of The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters, but aside from those two, my reading has taken a pretty heavy hit. Like I said, I just haven't had the time or energy to read lately. When I come home I'll open a book sometimes just to fall asleep two pages into it. And of course this would happen during the ONE month in ages that I've agreed to read a book for a tour! Here's hoping I'll get it read in time!

Today has been nice though. I had the day off from work and only had to see one client, and that session went really well. Went by my moms for a little while and then came home to clean the apartment which ended up giving me a migraine because I went into super cleaning mode :/ Have to work at the hospital tomorrow but Saturdays normally aren't too bad. And then Sunday, me and Matt have the day off together :) I know I'll be watching the Saints game at noon and then who knows what we'll do after that! Maybe go see The Perks of Being a Wallflower!! I'm actually really excited about that movie. When I saw Emma Watson was going to be in it, it made me have faith :)

Anyone have any great plans for the weekend? Reading anything that's blowing your mind? Tell me all about it!

Go Saints! Forgot to tell you I have Brees and Graham again this year. Keep Brees as my keeper and picked up Graham as my first pick.

Hope next week is more calm for you. The kind of work we do can make for some grueling ones.

I'm sorry that work was so tough for you this week, Chris! Hopefully today wasn't so tough at work and tomorrow will be just as relaxing. <3

I hope work gets better for you, Chris, or even better, soon you can open your own practice :-)

We had the week from hell too, and I couldn't read anything. I bought tons though to console myself!! I will have to do a post tomorrow, I think.

Let us know how the movie is, I know it's been anticipated this fall, and I'm kind of curious about it, too. Have fun seeing it, if you do!!!

I missed BBAW too because work got in the way :/ I feel very sad about that. But instead I'm trying to actually catch up on some commenting this weekend as I haven't been a great blogger on that front either.

I'm sorry your week has been tough and I hope it will be better come next week.

No guilt. I disappeared midweek as well. It can be so tough to keep posting all week, especially with work. I have to say that I've wondered about that "book blogger" title as well. Honestly, I feel like I share books because they are my first love, but also because a blog lets me talk about them somewhere! It really is more about the community, isn't it?

Well, I hope you had a great Sunday! I'm off to bed to read for a bit and to forget about the stress coming my way tomorrow. :)
