Yep...2 More Challenges

First a reminder...don't forget to sign up on my previous post, "The Catch Up Post...", to be entered for the drawings for The Time Traveler's Wife and Wind Follower. You have until January 15th. Sticky posts always bug me, so I'll just keep reminding people until then :p

So I figured that I can sign up for these 2 more challenges and I won't have to buy any more books which fit with my New Years resolution of reading from the shelves. These were just too cool and I couldn't pass them up!

The first is Foxy Writer's Mythopoeic Challenge which runs from January 1st through December 31st. Here are my picks:

1. Watership Down by Richard Adams
2. The Wood Wife by Terri Windling
3. Someplace to be Flying by Charles de Lint
4. Tamsin by Peter S. Beagle
5. Tithe: A Modern Faerie Tale by Holly Black
6. Inkheart by Cornelia Funke
7. The Stolen Child by Keith Donahue

The second challenge is Joy's A to Z challenge which is just too much fun to pass up :p It's basically a fill in the blanks challenge. You have to read a book whose title starts with each letter of the alphabet and an author whose name starts with each letter of the alphabet...52 books total. So you can just plug in books as you go! I love this one.

Joy, You just come up with the coolest challenges! This one sounds like so much fun...now hopefully I finish this one in time unlike the Seconds Challenge :(

A-ha..I knew you wouldn't resist the Mythopoeic challenge for long :P That's a great list of books. I hope to read many of those this year too.

The A~Z challenge sounds like lots of fun too. 52 books is a lot, but if you can overlap with other challenges and just add as you go along, it'll be fine.

Nymeth, I really couldn't resist it...it was just too good to pass up and I happened to have exactly 7 books on my shelf that fit the challenge! It was so hard to look at that list of books though and not add books that I want to go out and buy :( There are so many that are on my wishlist! What a great list, huh? So far, I'm sticking to my resolution...this is much harder than I thought and I'm only 6 days in! You'd think I'm quitting smoking or something :p The A to Z challenge really isn't that bad...I'll read 52 books anyway hopefully, but some of those letters will be difficult I'm sure...we'll see. I think it'll be fun.

I hope you have saved books for Carls Fantasy Challenge when he does that one!

Glad to see you are finally going to read Inkheart!! Though I am not sure how you will stand not getting book 2 and book 3 is due out before the end of the year!!

I am so in love with Inkheart. Hope you enjoy it!

No worries, Chris. I won't hold it against you. :) The only "Must Do" is have fun! Enjoy!

I figured you might join in on these. They really are too tempting to resist. :) I think the only thing that kept me from joining challenges last week (after Tuesday or Wednesday) was catching the flu. But I was really on a roll there for a while!

I had no doubt you'd join the Mythopoeic challenge...but I'm so happy to see you're jumping in on the A-Z challenge, too! I can't tell you how much fun it is to fill in the letters after you finish a book! Of course, Annie's already way ahead of me...the little brat!

Dark Orpheus, Yes, yes, I must...but these all fit in to challenges I'm participating in already, so it's really not that bad! ;) right?...

Deslily, For Carl's challenge I'm just going to pull fantasy books from other challenges and read them during that one :D Hence I make sure that I complete other challenges and I get to enjoy the spirit of fantasy reading! I might pull a few extras from my shelf too...we'll see. I might end up getting the other Inkheart books too...stop that, Pat!

Boudicca, I'm really looking forward to Inkheart! I haven't heard a single bad review of it yet, so I can't imagine not liking it!

Joy, Well I can promise you that I'll have fun with this one :p

Becky, I saw that! I still need to play catch up. I'm glad to see you're feeling a little better. Isn't the flu just the worst? Gah! I couldn't pass these two up...I tried...I really did, lol, but it only lasted a few days.

Debi, These challenges are going to be loads of fun! And don't feel bad about being behind Annie...I still haven't finished my first book of the year! Of course I pick a massive fantasy epic to start off the year...why do I do things like this to myself. It took me a month to read the first book in this man's series. This is the second book in the series :/ It's good though!

5-7 are great books! Hope you enjoy!

Now you've got me thinking about the A-Z challenge. *sigh* Don't do this to me! I've already got books for my challenge that cover all but seven for both the title and author. And I just went and joined another one.

Challenges are starting to remind me of grendels. They start out all cute and cuddly, then you accidently feed them after midnight and drop water on them, and next thing you know there're tons and them and they're kinda scary.

I'm just coming to the end of Inkheart and hope you will enjoy it as much as I have, Chris. It's an excellent and fun read. I've heard a lot about The Stolen Child too, so look forward to your review so that I can judge whether or not it might be my kind of thing.

Good God. You guys are KILLING me with all these challenges!! I've been debating on the Mythopoeic Challenge. Lord knows, I'll probably join in too!!

Ladytink, I'm looking forward to all of them, but those are ones that I'm particularly looking forward to, so glad to hear that you've enjoyed them too!

Eva, A to Z sounds right up your alley! With the amount of books you read, I'm sure it won't be a problem for you :p LOL! I love your challenge analogy...it's so true..they do indeed become scary after awhile :p

Cath, I can't wait for Inkheart! So many people have said great things about it. And I'm equally excited about The Stolen Child...it's been sitting on my shelf for awhile and it just looks so cool. I'll let you know what I think ;)

Steph, Sorry :( But in all fairness, you've done it to me many times too :p
