It's here y'all!! One of the days I look forward to all year :) And as usual, I'm getting off to a late start :p But not all that late. I figure by the time I figure writing this and get settled in, I'll be an hour late to the party :p Today will be a bittersweet day as they always are. I can't help but miss the living hell out of Dewey on these days. I was lucky enough to have done two readathons with her. One unofficially at the last minute where she welcomed me with open arms and cheered me on the whole way and one officially. And I'll also be thinking of grandma today too who passed away yesterday. But I'm reading in memory of her today too and donating to the Human Rights Campaign in memory of her. Which means I have to read my ASS off because I'm donating 5 cents a page in hopes of reading 1,000 pages which I've done before! A few times actually. So...introductury meme!
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
I'm reading from good old Mandeville, Louisiana! In particular, my apartment....currently my couch :p But I'll be switching it up as I always do from the couch to my patio where I get to be surrounded by all of my plants and the woods behind my apartment and then my favorite armchair back inside :)
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
Oh god, I really don't know how to answer this :p This year I picked THIRTY books that I'm all dying to read and I'm letting random.org pick for me. I'm starting with Voice of Our Shadow by Jonathan Carroll.
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
Velveta and rotel dip! A must have for a readathon!
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
Hmmm....I always hate this question as there's really not much people don't know about me after over 7 years of blogging :p Um, I love donuts a LOT and forgot to get them for today T_T Anyone making emergency donut deliveries? Also, it's about 5 hours before my normal wake up time right now :p I'm a counselor at a psychiatric hospital and do private practice counseling too and normally work evening hours. As in, I go to work at 3 pm.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
I've lost track of how many readathons I've done by now! My first was in 2008 I believe? But nope...not doing anything different. I have them down to a science at this point :p
Ug...I just previewed this post and saw that it put a white background for all of the questions because I copied them from feedly :/ I'm too lazy to fix it so sorry y'all :p Thanks SO MUCH Andi and Heather for hosting again this year!!! You ladies do such an amazing job and I can't even imagine the effort you put in. Love you two!!

Sweet Chris, I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandma. It is so terrible to miss those we love dearly, and all we can do is honor their name as you are doing. Blessings.
Wish I could bring you a doughnut! or a scone! or even a pinch-up cookie!
Am reading with you here in Illinois! Xo
Thanks Bellezza! Oh pinch ups! I should totally make some of those later on today! They've become one of my favorite cookies :) So easy, so delicious, and so sentimental because I love your story behind them.
Sending you a bag-full of virtual donuts - don't eat them all in one sitting or you'll have a sugar crash ;-)
As this is my first readathon ever I'm gleaning bits of tips from all these veterans! If you've been doing this since 2008 that's probably about 12 readathons now? You must have it down to a science!
Enjoy the morning and be sure to get up and stretch every now and then. Happy reading!
Go Chris Go! I of course thought no, I'll be too busy, and now realize that when I woke up I'm having a completely lazy day and could have done this challenge! darn it! So I'm cheering you on, and glad to see you are reading again :-)
I'm so sorry about your grandmother, Chris. Even if you knew it was coming, it's still a parting, and it does leave a space behind. My grandparents have all been gone for many years now, and yet they are as close as my memories of them, and I treasure what they gave me. So I hope the same for you as time goes by, that your memories of your grandmother become a treasure for you.
Hugs from Ottawa :-)
You are going to stay up until you finish every one of those books in your pile, right? :P
Chris, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandma! My grandma just passed away the first of this month as well, which is why I have pretty much been MIA for so long--I just couldn't bear to post anything without talking about it really. Crazy, I know. Anyway, I'm so sorry to hear about it, but I love how you're doing this for her! You're the best. :) XOXOXO
