More Bad Bloggers and Sunday Thoughts

Oh reading, we were getting along so good. I seem to have hit a reading road block. I'm not going to get stuck on it though. There are a lot of factors going on right now...Work has been crazy since we reopened after the Hurricane, we had guests in town for the last three days (which was a blast!), and I have way too many books going at once. It never fails that when I have too many books going I never get any done. But the books are all so GOOD!! And there are so many of them that NEED to be read right NOW...if only I could read at the speed that some of you read. Some of you just blow my mind at how quickly you can read! I'm thinking of Kelly and Becky off the top of my head, but there are lots of you out there!

As usual, the books come into the house much quicker than I can get them read. This week, five books came in and once again, I have to take the blame myself for most of them :p But I'm really excited about all of these!! This is what's walked in:

1. Thrall by Natasha Trethewey - So so so excited about this one! Since I discovered Trethewey after reading Native Guard, I wanted to get my hands on everything she wrote. This collection just came out and it's presented absolutely gorgeously. I've added this one to the "currently reading" pile, and I think I'll enjoy it slowly just reading a few poems a night. (Bought it)

2. Adaptation by Malinda Lo - New Malinda Lo!!! And I LOVE the cover and the sound of this one. Another one I had preordered. I'm adding this one to the RIP reading pool along with the next book. (Bought it)

3. Origin by Jessica Khoury - The Book Smugglers made me want this one. As they do with SO many books. When they first talked about this one though, I couldn't help myself...I went right off and preordered it. I think this one will work for RIP too so onto the pile this one will go as well. Point to The Book Smugglers! (Bought it)

4. The Vast Fields of Ordinary by Nick Burd - Yet another coming of age lgbt book :p I have SO many of those! Luckily, it's one of Matt's favorite genres too, so they get read by both of us :p I first heard about this one from Nerds Heart YA and it's been on my wishlist ever since. I've been waiting and waiting and waiting for my turn to come up on Paperback Swap and it finally has! Point to Nerds Heart YA! (Paperback Swap)

5. Summer and Bird by Katherine Catmull- Well this one was a nice little unexpected ARC and I'm glad it came! It has a GORGEOUS cover and it sounds amazingly creepy and perfect for RIP! (Review Copy)

Oh...and some Penguins waddled in too >>

I'd be thrilled if I could a tenth as fast as Kelly and Becky!!! Seriously. I must be amongst the very slowest readers of all time. :(

I'm totally going to buy Summer and Bird just because of that cover! I adore it!!!

Enjoy them all, sweetie!!!

I'm pretty sure that I live under a rock because none of these sound familiar to me. but love that cover of Adaptation!

Oh, I know. Kelly and Becky just blow my mind. I could never read that fast, even if I just sat on my butt all day.

I'm glad you got to have some fun with visitors! Enjoy your new books!
