The RIP VII Reading Pool!

At least for now...I'm SURE that this will be added to. I have SO many preorders that are all coming out like RIGHT NOW. The UPS man is going to hate me. And I'm sure many of these will fit into the RIP category. Plus I'm sure that many of your reviews will make it impossible for me not to go out and buy the book right this second. As of now, I have a stack of 23 books :/ Here they are!
The Vampire Voss by Colleen Gleason - The first book in Colleens new series! If it's half as good as Colleen's Gardella Vampire series, then I'm sure I'll love these!

Wings to the Kingdom by Cherie Priest - I'm LONG over due to read this second book, the follow up to Cherie Priest's amazing Four and Twenty Blackbirds!

The October Country by Ray Bradbury - I'm dying to read some Ray Bradbury lately and this one sounds just perfect for RIP.

Bedbugs by Ben Winters - Have had this one on the reading pile for awhile now!

Voice of Our Shadow by Jonathan Carroll - This is the one I think I'm most excited about! I've been DYING to read this one ever since Ana reviewed it ages ago and now that I've fallen in love with Carroll I'm even more excited.

The Wild Wood by Charles de Lint - Not sure if this fits RIP or not, but I needed some De Lint! Has anyone read this one? Will it work?

Come Closer by Sara Gran - Another one that's Ana's fault that I've been dying to read!

Bitten by Pamela Nagami - This will be a nonfic read for the challenge all about creepy bite stories!

The Beekeepers Apprentice by Laurie King - It would be nice to FINALLY start this series! I've been dying to read it!

The Red Tree by Caitlin R. Kiernan - I've heard so much good stuff about this one...will be nice to read it finally!

The Lantern by Deborah Lawson - I bought this one to read last RIP and never got around to it! Maybe this year...

Unwholly by Neal Shusterman - Perhaps the book I'm MOST excited about!! The sequel to Unwind. I've waited so long for this book!!

Tales of Terror from the Black Ship and Tales of Terror from the Tunnel's Mouth by Chris Priestley - LOVE his Tales of Terror series, so these should be a LOT of fun to read. They're just perfect stories with perfect atmosphere for this challenge. Would be a lot of fun to read aloud with families!

Servant of the Bones by Anne Rice - Just because I've never read this one and I wanted to read some older Anne Rice

The Axe Man of New Orleans by Rick Geary - This is an awesome looking graphic novel that my dear friend Debi sent me that I'm excited to dig into :D

Sister by Rosamund Lupton - Well after Deslily reviewed this one I HAD to get my hands on it :p And it sounds perfect for RIP!

Thy Neighbor by Norah Vincent - Perfect opportunity to finally read my ARC of this one! I'm reading one of her nonfic books right now, Voluntary Madness and it's fantastic. Looking forward to this one!

The Uninvited by Tim Wynne-Jones - This is another that's been on the TBR pile for WAY too long.

Hushed by Kelley York - Another that's been sitting on the pile too long! A murder mystery with lgbt themes! Yay!

The Alchemy of Stone AND The House of Discarded Dreams by Ekaterina Sedia - Been dying to read more Sedia ever since reading The Secret History of Moscow years ago. Put two of her novels on my list this year in the hopes that I read at least one!

The Face of Death by Cody McFadyen - God how I loved Shadow Man. Matt's reading it now and it's bringing back how powerful of a book that was. Can't wait to read the second in the series.

That's enough, huh? I seriously doubt I'll even read HALF of these, but it's gotta be better than I did for Once Upon a Time where I read exactly ZERO books this year :( I've already read one book for the challenge, so at least I've done better than that :p I think I'm going to use random.org to pick my reads this year so that it'll be a surprise :) What are YOU reading this year? Anything that I'm reading?

I've read the two Tales of Terror books on your pile, and The Beekeeper's Apprentice. Those were all excellent. Most of the rest are all new so I'm really looking forward to hearing about what you read. Maybe hoping to pick up a few recs, though I surely do not need to! ;-)

The Uninvited is on my list too! I only heard of it this summer when it came through the library catalog system as an audiobook. I ordered and got it and uploaded, now just waiting to listen! :D

I've got a handful of those around here...we should pick one and read it together. Of course, I generally suck at that sort of thing :P , but I promise I'd try hard to keep up.

You made me want to go add a bunch more books to my pool...just what I need--Ha!

Oooh, and I didn't realize Unwholly had come out yet! Though you probably already told me it had--I'm such a frickin' airhead. *sigh*

Cath, Hope I can add to your list :p We're so bad for each other, aren't we! lol

Amanda, Oh cool!! Curious to hear how the audio is!! Let me know :)

Debs, I would LOVE to do a readalong with you :) Let me know if there's one in particular that catches your eye!! We tend to add to each other's piles, don't we :p And yep, go get Unwholly NOW!

Wow, quite a nice set of stacks! Mine are mostly boxed, of course, so I'll just read my most spooky-looking ARC and anything else that grabs me as I unload. I don't think I have any of those titles at all! No, wait, I think I have The Beekeeper's Apprentice. And, I found not one but 2 collections of Ray Bradbury's stories, so I may read one of those, when I locate it. :) Have fun!

I think I own The Beekeeper's Apprentice as well (I keep adding to my list looking at those of others!) I had no clue it was part of a series..

Your list looks great btw :) I hope you have so much fun reading from it!

Great list, Chris. I hope to have mine up on Tuesday. I guess I'll have to break down and find used copies of the Tales of Terror book because every one loves them and my library doesn't have them!

Other Chris, I'm really looking forward to that one!!

Mel, You should TOTALLY read Something Wicked!!! One of my favorite books ever :) Really is just amazing.

Nancy, I really would like to read a lot of Bradbury this go around! I just have the one collection right now though :( Maybe another laying around somewhere...don't you just hate having all of your books in boxes :/

Iris, Oh yeah! She's made quite a lengthy series out of those books! I'm pretty sure you can still read them as standalones, but I'm a bit nuts about reading things in order :p

Mama, I'm so excited about a lot of these! And yep...I can blame quite a few people for these :p

Amy, I love this time of year too! And the spooky reading really does set the tone of the season so well! Any plans on doing the fall recipe exchange again?

Vasilly, Thanks :)

Gavin, Oh the Tales of Terror books are definitely worth tracking down!! I think you'd really enjoy them :)

Darren, If I recall, your list tops mine :p
