Thoughts on a Friday Night

Here I am laying on my sofa and suddenly having an urge to blog, so I shall. It's been one hell of a week. We've had record rain fall all week here which I normally love, but not when I drive thirty miles each way to work! I've learned to not love the rain as much any more :p And work has just been insufferable lately, but I'm not going to focus on that. No I shall think of the good things right now.

-I have the whole weekend off of work.

-I get to spend that weekend with my sweetie who is also off of work all weekend :)

-I have a massage scheduled for tomorrow!

-I finished my supervision for my licensure this week and have all of my paperwork done, notarized, and ready to submit! Just have to wait to be approved now which should happen at the end of August and I'll be Louisiana's newest licensed counselor :)

-I just read Becky's review of The Time Traveler's Wife and was reminded of how much I love that book. It made me want to experience reading that book for the first time again. Do you have books that you'd love to read again for the first time? Obviously we can never do that but wouldn't it be wonderful if we could?

-I finally get to pick up my night table that I've been waiting on forever this weekend and we're getting a piece of furniture that I've been wanting for a long time thanks to my mom :)

-The opening ceremony of the olympics was AMAZING...but I should have known that seeing as Danny Boyle created it. Also, the queen jumped out of a helicopter. Not really, but she kind of did.

-We sort of have a pet possum. Not really once again, but there is this cute little possum that I see all the time when I go onto our porch. He's super cute!!

-I have a tomato growing on my plant!!!!! This excites me way too much! I'm growing everything in containers now and everything's doing really well now but the tomato plant hadn't produced any actual fruit for like two months now. I came home today though and noticed a tomato growing and a few more following!

-Ummm....I'm sure there are lots more good things going on right now, but like I said at the beginning of this post, it's been a long week so my brain isn't working. So fill me in on what's good in YOUR life right now!

Vacation!! Woo-hoo!! That's my good thing. One week off of work and I get to spend it in Oregon, possibly my most favorite state ever.

And Trish and I are plotting monsters for October. Also a good thing.

I just noticed the new(ish?) picture of you...love the hat!

Have a marvelous, relaxing weekend with your sweetie!

I don't think anyone could do a bad olympic opening...loved the history and literature parts best.

as you know I am rereading the dragonriders of Pern and am more then half way thru the White Dragon..if I could read those again "for the first time" it would be marvelous! But I've read these books a number of times and although I know what happens it still lets me feel as if I am back there with them again..sometimes "you can go home"!

I loved the opening ceremonies too. I think my favorite part--well, there were at least four or five "favorite" parts--was Rowan Atkinson! He was hilarious :)

Congrats on being so close to obtaining your liscence! I've never really wanted to read a book again for the first time, but there are many I've read as adults and wish I'd read for the first time at a younger age, when they would have enthralled me more.

Wow, it is a jam packed post! Congrats on your week off work, I'm thrilled for you both and not the least bit jealous (he lies). A massage sounds like the perfect way to start it. I've been doing some physical therapy for my back and I keep telling Mary and I want to do this twice a week forever. The massage and electrode massage are great!!!

I'd love to read TTW again for the first time. One book that always comes to mind when I see this question is The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. I'd love to experience that one again for the very first time.

Congrats on getting your licensure stuff done, that is great! Its a lot of hard work and I'm sure you are thrilled that it is done.

If you have time please spend some of it sending that rain our way, we could use it!

I hope you have a great and relaxing weekend off! And jealous of your tomatoes. I'm kicking myself for not planting this year. I was convinced we'd have another terrible summer and it hasn't been. Wondering now if I can do fall tomatoes.

Enjoy the weekend with Matt!

As long as the possum doesn't get inside your walls! It will be much less cute if it's in your attic. My daddy constructed a possum trap for the possums in our walls, and they are significantly uncute when trapped. They have terrifying snarl faces. We never hurt them, we always release them kindly across the river, but they have the scariest little faces. Ugh.

Ah, thanks for the mention! :) I don't know why I was so silly and stubborn about reading that one, but it sure did not disappoint. So sweet.

I'm glad you have the weekend off. There's nothing better when work just seems to keep pounding away at you! The massage & time off with Matt should make it all disappear for a little while, right? :)

I have tomatoes too, although the two giant ones on there have been green for almost three weeks? So weird. Since then, three more small green tomatoes have popped up. I'm just waiting for them to mature. I can't wait!

Thanks again Chris. I'm so glad you did jump on and chat with us!!!

Love your list of good stuff! I was totally thinking I should make another list even though I just did last week. It helps, I think.
