January in Review

Can you believe that the first month of 2012 is over already? My professional life has royally sucked. Well...I shouldn't entirely say that. I DID pass the most important test of my professional career, but work has just royally sucked lately. Everything else has just been really good lately though! I'm getting my finances under control. I'm really serious about finding a house, I've started my garden, I'm so in love with my sweetheart, and it was a really good reading month. At least for me it was. So here's what I read this month:

1. Call Me By Your Name by Andre Aciman, 2007, 248 pgs., Picador
2. Level Up by Gene Luen Yang, 2011, 160 pgs., FirstSecond
3. The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories by Joseph Gordon Levitt, 2011, 88 pgs., It Books
4. The Disenchantments by Nina LaCour, 2012, 308 pgs., Dutton Books
5. The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey, 2007, 259 pgs., Thomas Nelson
6. An Abundance of Katherines by John Green, 2008, 272 pgs., Speak
7. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, 2012, 318 pgs., Dutton Books
8. Tale of Sand by Jim Henson and Ramon K. Perez, 2012, 152 pgs., Archaia Books
9. Pink Smog by Francesca Lia Block, 2012, 185 pgs., Harper Teen
10. Letters From the Closet by Tony Ferrante and Paulette Jacobson, 1994, 48 pgs., Tzedakah Publications

10 books is really good for me. If I can keep this up, I can actually read 100 books in a year for the first time ever!! Best book of the month is EASILY The Fault in Our Stars. That book has become a new one to go onto the favorites list. Worst book of the month, that's another easy one, Letters From the Closet. What. A. Piece. Of. Crap. Seriously. That's one of the WORST books I've ever read. It embodied every single awful stereotype of coming out of the closet I've ever read. And it really had no redeeming qualities at all. It was just god awful. Not even worth talking about.

How was everyone else's reading month? Oh and DON'T FORGET GUYS!!! I'm trying to give away free seeds too :p So GO ENTER :D

agh!... I am only 1/2 way thru Great Expectations and one small book was 80 pgs so I did 5 1/2 books lol.. or 4 1/2 that little one was one sentence per page I can't count that really ...but still a decent beginning for me.. Dickens is always slow for me to read but I do like his books..but do like Wilke's writing better.

you did great!!!
sorry the job isn't going well at the moment.

My internet gave out when I tried to comment on this post last night. As I tried to say, you had a great reading month! I hope you are able to keep it up this year because I know last year was a bit of a struggle. I hope that things improve at work, though. It sounds like everything else is going really well.

this post cracks me up. And that is an awesome book count! I would love to reach 100 in a year but this year is not going to be it, I can tell you that already!!

Mama, You TOTALLY need to count the 80 page book because I counted books that were much shorter :p I still haven't read Great Expectations...I will someday though!! HAve you ever read A Tale of Two Cities?? I LOVE that one so much!! One of my all time favs. Depressing though, lol.

Kelly, I'm hoping this is a much much much better reading year!! January was good at least!! I even got a few blog posts in for once!! Hope I can keep it up ;)

Daphne, Glad I could crack you up :p Don't give up yet! Maybe you'll surprise yourself...you can always start reading picture books :p

I outdid myself and read 15 in January, but I've only finished one book, so far, this month. It was 780 pages (PASSAGE by Connie Willis). That's a good excuse, right?

Seeds. Ugh. I do not want to think about it getting even warmer and things growing and sneezy weather, uck, uck.
