Bad Bloggers Time!!!

So this will be the first bad bloggers over at the new/old blog :D In case you can't tell by my actually posting for once, I've been really happy being back at blogger. It just feels right and I'm thoroughly enjoying blogging again :) I missed it so much and it's great to be in touch with all of my friends again!!! Anyway, with the new financial plan, not as many books have come into the house this time...but it's still more than it should be :p Especially considering I BOUGHT some of these which should be a no no right now. Ah well :p

1. Out of the Past: Gay and Lesbian History from 1869 to the Present by Neil Miller - Just happened to come across this one on paperback swap and it sounded REALLY interesting! It's a chunkster too! (Paperback Swap)

2. Parrotfish by Ellen Wittlinger - I've just had my eye on this one for a long time now and my turn finally came up on Paperback Swap for it! I believe it deals with transgendered issues. (Paperback Swap)

3. The Unwritten Volume 5 by Mike Carey - It's an AWESOME freaking series...and I still haven't read the fourth book, but I must have all of these :p (Bought it)

4. Shadows in Flight by Orson Scott Card - Had this one preordered!! It's a new Ender book so I couldn't pass it up :p I'm in the middle of it right now and it's really freaking good!!! This one follows Bean and his children. (Bought it)

5. The Secret Life of Lobsters by Trevor Corson - Anyone care to guess who gets a point for this book? :p If you guessed Care, then you would be correct!! Saw she got this one for Christmas and had actually read it and talked about how much she loved it, so I figured I needed a copy too ;) (Paperback Swap)

6. Cheerful Weather for the Wedding by Julia Strachey - I've been wanting to build up a collection of these gorgeous Persephone books and found this one for a great price and couldn't pass it up! (Bought it)

7. The Cage of Zeus by Sayuri Ueda - Found this one while browsing at Barnes and Noble and it sounded SO GOOD!! It's sci fi by a Japanese woman that plays with gender. I mean, what's not to love about that? (Bought it)

8. The Children's Book by A.S. Byatt - Couldn't pass this one up either!! I've been wanting this book since it came out and Ana reviewed it. Found a first edition hardcover at B&N for $6.98...of course it came home with me :p Point to Ana for this one! (Bought it)

The Unwritten is one of the books that hasn't arrived for me yet. I emailed them today looking for them, so hopefully they will arrive soon. I also don't have the John Green and a couple others.

I didn't love The Children's Book. I really wanted to, but it didn't happen. I plan to try again one day...

I had The Secret Life of Lobsters out from the library one time and never got a chance to read it. I should try again...

Enjoy the rest of your books! I did a small splurge today myself. Bad me... At least they are partly pre-orders so are stretched out a bit.

I'm so out of the loop these days, I am going to start taking notes on all the good books everyone is posting about!! For my sanity's sake, I'm trying to get my foot back in the blogging world again. I miss it way too much! Hope you are doing well....

LOL--that's quite a haul considering you're not supposed to be buying books! :P Okay, okay--I actually very impressed with your restraint. :D Even though it scares the piss out of me, I still *really* want to try The Children's Book one day!

The Children's Book is on my mental wish list. I've told myself I am NOT buying books. Not, not, NOT. But, I caved at Sam's and bought CINDER, yesterday. Husband said, "What do you think you're doing? I said you could look at books, not buy!" when he saw it in the cart. Hahaha. Like he can tell me what to do. It went through the check-out with me just fine.

When I saw the lobster book, I wondered if Care was about to get a point. I have a copy of that but haven't read it, yet. It's a very Care sort of book.

BTW, I keep reading your blog on the iPad and my full-size keyboard case broke. I apologize for not commenting, recently, but I agree with you about this stinking nice weather. I want winter, dammit! January is supposed to be our one month off from the pollen. Kinda pisses me off to have to take allergy medicine in January.

I have been looking for The Children's Book too! Although I'm one of the few who couldn't get through Possession, so I'm not holding my breath that it will be as superb for me as others find it. I think it will still be interesting to read.

Some interesting books there, Chris! It's amazing how we always find ways to get books into our house, even if we cut back on spending as you have (and I will be shortly). I really want to read the Julia Strachey book too.

I'm so glad you've found you blogging swing again with blogger! I never loved blogger, I'm a Wordpress girl through and through, but I know how disorienting and strange it can be to change platforms. It always feels like going home again to Wordpress, so I imagine you feel the same way about Blogger :)

I loved The Children's Book but it is hard work at times - it doesn't matter if you skip some of the history, I reckon! The stories are wonderful though. And Persephones are just irresistible - their shop is near where I stay when I visit London regularly. I have to NOT go there!
