Wahoo! Wednesday, Blogger Christmas Exchange, And NaNo Day 14

Lots of stuff in this post today! To start off with, CJ had a wonderful idea. As many of you know, our beloved blogger, Bookfool is going through some rough times right now and had to step away from blogland for a little while. She's in my thoughts and I know she's in the thoughts of so many other bloggers out there. One thing that I'm certainly missing and CJ was missing too was Bookfool's Wahoo! Wednesdays :) Bookfool takes the time every Wednesday to find something to say "Wahoo" about in life. That can be hard at times, but you would be amazed at the simple things that she finds in life that are truly beautiful. These are often accompanied with her beautiful photographs. CJ suggested that we all Wahoo about something today and let Bookfool know we're thinking of her. My favorite photographs of hers are always her nature photographs, particularly her bird photos! So the one I'm sharing and saying Wahoo! about is one of three hawks that have been living in our backyard! They've become like family, but I'm afraid that they've moved on for the winter :( I took this about 3 weeks ago...hopefully they'll come back next year.

The next Wahoo is for Nymeth :) She's putting together something that I am so excited about! The Blogger Christmas Exchange. It's a secret santa thing for the book blogging community and you can read all about it and get the details on her blog. She's amazing for organizing this. I'm sure it's no small task. I'm definitely in and I've already signed up and hope that everyone else will too. Like she said, the bigger it is, the more fun it will be. I think it'll be so much fun to shop for another book blogger :D

And the last Wahoo of the day is for NaNo day 14. A Wahoo is due for today because I crossed the halfway mark! Just barely though at 25,020 words. So it's all downhill from here. Another week or so and I can start bringing the story to a close. I can't wait to do that. I have so many plans that I'm looking forward to for the end of this story. But if the rest of the story is any measure of how the ending will go, all my plans will be thrown out the window because the characters just don't like where I'm taking them! They seem to have a mind of their own...

well now.. I didn't write the word "wahoo"..but it is a wahoo type post!!

hey.. don't forget that what you are writing doesn't have to be ONLY 50,000 words! So if your characters take you places, all you do is find ways back to the path you have in mind.. it makes for a longer book! and that CANNOT be a bad thing!!

Deslily, I'm about to head towards your blog :) Oh, I know it doesn't have to only be 50K...This one could easily go over the 50K word mark and it just may. We'll see what happens. I have a feeling that once I get to the ending my word count per day will go up much higher than it has been. I have plenty of ideas. Right now, I just don't know where to go with it. Today things happened in the book that I didn't want to happen yet! So I have to see what I'm going to do with that.

I love the idea of Wahoo Wednesday. Thank you for wahooing me :) And thank you for spreading the word!

Congratulations for crossing the 25000 words mark! Isn't it amazing how when writing the characters seem to acquire a life of their own? Just go where the story takes you!

Nymeth, You're very welcome for the Wahoo! Well that just doesn't sound right, does it? :p

I hope that lots of people sign up for the Christmas Exchange! I have a feeling you're going to get a big response to that one!

Thanks on the congratulations. It's a good feeling. It really is amazing how the characters come alive. I've never written anything of this length before where the characters have been this developed. It's really cool!

Continuing the Wahoo! is a great idea Chris.

Other Chris ;), Isn't it a great idea? I can't take credit for it though! It was CJ from My Year of Reading Seriously's wonderful idea :) I hope that these posts can put a little Wahoo! in Bookfool's step!

Stephanie, It was such a relief to pass the halfway mark for NaNo! It was an "I can do this" moment. And Nymeth's Christmas Exchange is indeed very cool ;)

Hey Chris!!!

I don't know where to begin. What a lovely, uber-cool wahoo post. I adore the hawk photo - what a perfect picture!! You can imagine how I bubbled up. I'm sitting in Burger King - about out of time here, and my butt's going numb from the hard booth, but wahoo for being able to get online at all, right? LOL

Congratulations on reaching the halfway mark!!! Wow, you go, fella! I wrote about 50 words, last night. Hahaha. Okay, it's better than nothing.

Thank you, thank you for saying such nice things about me - I really don't deserve all the nice things you say, but I appreciate you and you guys are making me all teary. The Burger King people are going to call for help, soon, if I don't cut this out (it took a while, but some very helpful Oklahomans pointed out the wireless at Burger King and I'm loving it). Miss you! I'll peek in when I can, but I'm going to be gone for at least a couple more weeks. When I get back, I'll have to send you a poppet bookmark I made (yeah, dragged along 50 books, a bunch of print-outs and the laminating machine). The Christmas exchange sounds great - I'll join in if I can (we'll see). :)

JP, Isn't that hawk awesome?! I wish I could've gotten better pictures of him. He has two smaller family members who were hanging out too. He would chase squirrels all the time and grabbed a couple! Scary stuff...

I'm excited about Nymeth's Christmas Exchange too :) It's awesome!

And we're all cheering for Bookfool ;)

Bookfool! Wahoo for online access at Burger King! Didn't know they even had that! When CJ suggested we do Wahoo posts, the first thing I thought of was the hawk :) It reminded me of you. I'm glad we could all give you something to smile about :D You give us something to smile about all the time! I hope things are going ok for you all over there. Hang in there! We'll all still be here when you get back. And a poppet bookmark!! How cool!

Chris,

I know, who'd have thought Burger King. LOL

I love the hawk - gorgeous, gorgeous photo and I so appreciated the smile!!!! Things are going okay, here. I'm sure the BK people will get sick of me, but I'm getting a brief, daily fix. I'll drop by when I can. I miss all you wonderful bloggy people. :)
