What Book Are You? and Who's Going to See Stardust?

I never do these little quiz things...or I should say that I do them, but never post them, but this one was just fun! Here's my results:

You're Watership Down!

by Richard Adams

Though many think of you as a bit young, even childish, you're
actually incredibly deep and complex. You show people the need to rethink their
assumptions, and confront them on everything from how they think to where they
build their houses. You might be one of the greatest people of all time. You'd
be recognized as such if you weren't always talking about talking rabbits.

Take the Book Quiz
at the Blue Pyramid.

I've never actually read Watership Down or seen the cartoon movie..I suppose that's another one that I should add to the list of classics to read.

So who's going to see Stardust tomorrow night?! I was going to go by myself, but I just realized that Megan's mom and little brother would probably love it, so I'm going to see if they want to go too. Yay! Finally!

If I go, it'll probably be by myself. I don't think anyone around would want to go.

Tomorrow night, however, I'm going to see Travis Tritt in concert.

CJ, You're a country gal, eh? Enjoy! Sounds like you're having a good vacation :)

I'm new to going to see movies by myself. I never used to, but I've found that it can be an enjoyable experience. Though it's great fun to share the experience with others as well.

Sadly I think the UK cinema release is in Autumn, so I'll still be waiting a while to see Stardust. So unfair!

My Book Quiz result turned out to be The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and the description for that one is kind of odd!

sadly stardust isn't here yet! i think its coming in october...

i wouldn't watch watership down unless you have a strong constitution. i haven't seen it, but have seen bits from it. its like bambi to the max! really quite scary in parts - some of the bad rabbits are horrible - and its very very very sad.

I got The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe when I did the quiz which was interesting... Stardust isn't out here yet, will have to check the release date but I don't think it's for a month or two :(

"Watership Down" is one of those classics I've been meaning to read for ages. One of these days. I took that quiz a while ago and I was "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"! I couldn't be happier with the result!

Enjoy Stardust! I too will have to wait until October :(

Oh and I have to say - Watership Down is a favourite of mine. Albeit a kind of "rip your heart out and nail it to the wall" favourite.

Love the book, love the film. Funnily The Boy bought me a new "deluxe edition" copy of the DVD the other day, will have to watch that soon...if I can quite bring myself to.

let me guess.. you are excited about the movie of Stardust??
I doubt I will get to see it but I would love to!! I didn't know that Ian McKellan was doing the narration!

only once did I see a cip while in florida.. and not again until this week that I've seen it more..I don't know how well it will do.. it sure didn't get a lot of publicity on tv..

I haven't read the book, but saw the movie when I was younger and was incredibly moved by it. I should really read the book someday.

I'm waiting a week to see stardust... I always try to wait a week so I don't have to deal with crowds at the theater. :)

*pauses to go take quiz*

I got Watership Down too. :)

I think I did this one before and was Watership Down as well.

I am either going this afternoon or tomorrow morning to see Stardust and I am looking forward to it with fear and trembling! ;)

I think I'm going to try to squeeze in Becoming Jane this weekend as well.

Off topic: can't remember if you are a Firefly/Serenity addict like I am, but I read the essay book Finding Serenity awhile back and found it both interesting and, when I didn't agree with them, infuriating. There is a sequel coming out soon (the first was written before Serenity the film came out so there was much speculation about part of the series) that has an essay by Orson Scott Card. I will no doubt pick it up and post about it so I'll remind you when it comes out.

Quix...that's so sad :( I wish you didn't have to wait that long! I don't see you as The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, lol...

JP, Same as I told Quix..that's sad :( I've heard that Watership Down is very sad...go figure, it fits me well, lol!

Rhinoa, you and Quix seem to be two peas in a pod! You have identical comments!

Nymeth, now that's a cool result! Why couldn't I get a book like that? You people need to all fly here to see Stardust :p

Quix again, lol...I've heard that Watership Down is a rip your heart out and mash it up to pieces novel...but I tend to like those ;)

Deslily, I really think you'd like the movie! I'll let you know how it was. It didn't get a lot of publicity at first. But last night, I saw a commercial for it during every single commercial break! Of course I'm excited about it :p

Heather, I really considered waiting a week for the crowds to die down, but I don't think I can wait that long, lol! Though I may wait a couple of days because tonight is looking rather busy.

Yay for someone else getting Watership Down!!!

Carl, We're farming a Watership Down army!

I know the fear and trembling feeling! I'm feeling more confident about it now though as I see more extended clips. I won't rest easy until I see the full movie though. I may wait until Sunday to see it. Tonight's looking busy.

I'm a HUGE Firefly nut! I haven't read the book yet, but that's great news about the sequel! Orson Scott Card was a huge fan of the series and claims it to be one of the best series ever produced. I have to agree ;)

I couldn't wait, I took off early today and went with the family to see it. Review will be up tomorrow. It isn't the book in many ways, but as a stand alone movie it is very enjoyable and in spite of myself I am very, very pleased with it. I actually want to run out and see it again. Non-spoiler review tomorrow!

chrisa511 said...

Yay!! We knew it wouldn't be the book as Neil said "it will be a movie, not the book", but I'm SO glad to hear out of your mouth (or fingers I guess) that it was good!! Can't wait for the review :D

Ah, this quiz that got me all unhappy. Were you happy with the result? I did the quiz twice.

Stardust will be late coming to our side of the world, so I'm going to be reading the reviews from you guys. Absorbing the film vicariously through you guys until the day.

Have fun with Stardust. Hope the film lives up to your expectations.

On a different note I have come to appreciate watching movies by myself though - I have too many friends who are chronic late-comers. I had to miss quite a gew movies because they show up after the movie started screening. I find that I get to watch more movies this way.

I ended up seeing Stardust on opening weekend after all, and LOVED it! Tons of fun and absolutely beautiful. Deniro was an unexpected treat.

Dark Orpheus, I wasn't overly happy with the result, but then again, I haven't read the book...but I wouldn't describe myself as "childish" like they did :p That's just rude!

I'm going to see Stardust by myself! The person I was going with went to see it without me, so now it's just me...My review will be up whenever that happens.

Heather, I'm so glad you got to see it and that you loved it!!! I'm hearing lots of good stuff. I'm really excited now :D

I love Watership Down. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'm Bigwig.

Bellezza, Ok, now I have to read the book so that I know what the hell your comment means :p
