More Stardust Stuff To Fill Requests!

After the post last night, a couple of people wanted to see what some of the interior art of Stardust looked like. I'm hoping that Mr. Vess and Mr. Gaiman wouldn't mind me showing it here as hopefully it will lead to more buyers ;) I found most of these by doing a quick Google search rather than taking photos of the book (I don't have a scanner). So here they are:

This one is one of the new pictures included in the back of the book and is one of my favorites. It is Yvaine (the star) singing with her sisters:Next up is another of my favorites because it's Tori Amos! Gaiman and Vess wanted to put Tori into the story, so she became a red tree...and here she is:This one is the print that I was talking about that I bought off of eBay that I want to get framed. It was also the cover of issue 3 of the initial release of the Stardust graphic novels:And here are just a couple more examples of images from the book. All together there are over 100 paintings and sketches. Really beautiful and diverse work. I hope that anyone who has the chance to pick it up cherishes it and enjoys it.

The second to last is my favourite. It probably helps that my boyfriend uses it as his avatar in several places, so it now makes me think of him. I wonder if I could find a print of it somewhere... it'd make a lovely present for him.

I love all the other ones you posted. This book really is a treasure.

I'd love to find a website that sells Stardust prints. There's one picture that Elaine posted on her blog awhile back that I love. It's the one with the red tree with Pan in the background. Maybe Carl would know a website that sells Stardust prints...

*screams "CARLLLLL"* ;)

Vess is such an amazing artist. His black and whites are as beautiful as his colored work and you cannot say that about every artist.

The only place I have ever seen Stardust prints is the expensive ones you can get directly from Vess' site.

Perhaps some will become available as the movie comes out, but I'm not sure.

I hope that they release some with the movie. That would be cool. It's great seeing a movie like this produced. Just think of all the cool stuff we can scoop up!

Indeed. Our closest AMC theatre has a HUGE Stardust cardboard display. I really hope that it has a good opening weekend...Rush Hour 3 is opening against it and so I hope people are in the mood for something magical rather than something comical.

Those pictures are so GORGEOUS! This is such a wonderful book (I could gush for hours!) and the pictures just make it! Thanks for sharing them!

See now I have to buy it! If only because Tori is in it as a tree hehe. I love the picture of the unicorn and the lion. Damn I need to not buy any books next month, but maybe I can get just one little one...

Carl, I have high hopes for Stardust and I have a really good feeling that it will do well. I hope that my feeling is right! I don't think it will have a problem against Rush Hour 3. At least I really hope not. Lots of hopes there ;)

Steph, No problem. It's definitely quite the experience to flip through the pages of this book. Vess artwork and Gaiman's writing are an incredible combination.

Rhinoa, hehe...Tori makes another appearance as the red tree as well on the next page. I apologize and at the same time have an evil grin on my face for persuading you to go spend money on this one!

WOW! What a great print you snagged on ebay! I'm so jealous. That's one you should frame. Great post.

Jeff...wanna know the best part? No one else saw it apparently and I paid .99 cents for it! And it's in perfect condition! Can't wait to have it framed.

Thanks Pat! What would I do without you ;)

The Stardust illustrations really are gorgeous. I treasure my illustrated editions.

Love the print you have - I'd love to have that framed and on my wall. :)

The Duirwaigh Gallery site sell some Vess prints. I'll be dropping hints to The Boy this year about some of them. *grin* Sadly they don't have any Stardust prints that I recall.

To answer your question about the new illustrated edition release over here - it seems Amazon don't expect it until September.

Quix, You should add Vess to your "favorite searches" on ebay...you'd be surprised how often that print pops up on there. That print's from a US comic Expo though, so it may only be on the US eBay...I have Vess on my favorite searches, so I'll just email you next time I see one up there...that's easy enough :p

That would be great Chris, thanks! :)

Considering that I plug Duirwaigh all the time it is sad that I didnt' remember that they have Vess prints there. Doh!
